Whether you are only admiring these beautiful creations or you own some old embroidered pieces yourselves; whether you practise one or more techniques or you just want to learn more about them.
I hope that, through your visit to my site, you will be inspired to develop your interest and skills in the wonderful traditional French art of white embroidery.
Embroidery, my Passion and my Job
I first discovered embroidery when I came across some bonnets, which my great grand mother used to wear at the beginning of the 19th Century. I thought they were fascinating and I started studying them with a magnifying glass. From then on, my passion for all embroideries grew bigger and it is by studying old pieces and repairing them to their original condition that I have learned the skills of this fine art. I was practising white (and colour) embroidery for several years, when in 1994, I won the "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" title in white embroidery.
"Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" is a national competition held every 3 years where the very best craftsmen and women in the county are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in their particular field of expertise by the Ministry of Education - I was required to produce 2 masterpieces: 1 table runner and 1 complementary decorative piece.
